The Industrial Security Academy of Korea was established in June 2018 at the proposal of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) as a private expert organization composed of leading industrial security specialists from the industrial and legal sectors. The academy was founded with 36 member companies from Korea’s five major business groups — Samsung, Hyundai, LG, SK, and POSCO.
Through mutual cooperation among its members, the academy contributes to the protection of industrial technologies, including national core technologies, the enhancement of national competitiveness, the cultivation of experts, the sharing of knowledge and experience, academic research, and domestic and international exchange and cooperation.
